From One Idea to Two States
2020 - founded
Stuart Jones, PA/MPH, started Medical House Calls in Tennessee around one idea: the visit should come to you.
2023 - ACQUIRED
Medical House Calls was acquired by Chuck McDowell.
2026 - EXPANDED
We crossed into Alabama, adding Homewood, Vestavia Hills, and Hoover.
Bringing Medicine Home
Medical House Calls was founded in 2020 after watching the same pattern repeat: a waiting room full of people who had each lost half a day, appointments booked weeks past the point of being useful, and a bill that arrived months later with numbers nobody had mentioned up front. The medicine itself was rarely the problem. Everything built around it was. So we started a practice that travels to the patient instead.
The People Behind Your Care
Our clinical team is made up of Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and EMTs, with Physician Assistant and MPH leadership setting care standards. Every provider is licensed in the state they serve.

We are a licensed medical practice in Tennessee and Alabama. Medical Directors oversee our clinical work, and our Nurse Practitioners operate under collaborative practice agreements. Your records and every message you send us are handled under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Not billing insurance changes how you pay us, but it changes none of our standards.
